Magic Hour app for iPhone and iPad
Magic Hour (also called golden hour) is the time of day around sunrise and sunset when the light is great for photography and cinematography. It is typically when the sun is between 6 degrees below the horizon to 6 degrees above. This sunlight is evenly dispersed and helps you create great pictures.
Magic Hour makes it easy for you to know when magic hour is coming and how much time you have left once it begins. The app takes your location along with the current day and calculates when magic hour will occur. If the weather forecast is available we give that to you as well.
What other light is cool to photograph in? The moon, of course. And you want a full moon for that. Our Moon Watch section lets you know the next moonrise and when the next full moon will appear.
In addition to this, you can set up notifications on and before magic hour begins. And with our in-app purchase you can select locations other than your current one, view future magic hour times, and create calendar events for them.
Data that is used with the Magic Hour App (e.g. locations, notifications, calendar events, etc.) remain local to your device and are not transmitted nor remotely stored.

This app shows you all the information you would possibly need. Nice to have the sun angle and also from the moon. Completly ad free in the lite version. The costum push messages are also really helpful. Costum background images would be nice! Great app! It gets me more outside so i get more shots than i would without. Thats a great thing. Thanks for providing it free.
Nice interface, with everything on one page, laid out in an easy-to-use format. I’ll definitely use it a lot.
It needs a companion app, if like me, you are planning sunset events several weeks in advance.

Ive found more reasons to use this app than I thought I would. I wanted it just to help with photography and video, but I love the moon tracker and countdown to the solstice as well.
Some bad moments
Magic Hour was already a great app. The new version is beautifully designed. Its a great upgrade to go with the camera I got last week.
Its very helpful and I can even set it to notify me when the Magic Hour is here. Often times I totally miss half of it because Im not aware of the time so the notification is awesome :)
Magic Hour has never left my phone since I first installed it. Its the perfect app for knowing at a glance the best times for outdoor photography. The new iOS 7 facelift looks great.
The best app out there
No questions ask try it you will love it !
Its OK as long as you have a cellular data or Wi-Fi connection, but its totally useless if you are away from a tower as with most of my nature photography. I love the notificaton capabilities, but it needs to be able to download its data for planned trips off-grid.
I loved this app before for my photography. But since the last update the location wont update so the time is off all the time :/
